Backpack Size Guide

The short answer: Small (32 × 25 × 11 cm) suits 1–3 year olds and first daycare days; Regular (39 × 29 × 13 cm) suits 3 years and up, through kinder and into primary school. Both carry the same embroidered name and the same five colours.

Small — 32 × 25 × 11 cm

Made for little shoulders. Holds a change of clothes, a drink bottle, a sun hat and one comfort toy — the daycare essentials, and nothing that weighs a toddler down. Best for ages 1–3.

Regular — 39 × 29 × 13 cm

Room to grow into. Fits a lunch box, a library book, a spare outfit and a water bottle for kinder mornings and big-school days. Best for ages 3 and up.

How to choose

  • If they cannot carry it comfortably themselves, it is a size too big — choose Small.
  • Packing lunch and a library book? Choose Regular.
  • Buying ahead for the school years? Regular lasts longer.

A note on fit

Both sizes have padded, fully adjustable straps and a reinforced base, so the bag sits well on small backs and holds its shape through years of mornings.

Every backpack is hand-embroidered to order in our Melbourne studio, in five colours, with up to ten letters across the front.
